my name is Jort
Hi there, my name is Jort Schutte and I live and work in Amsterdam. I've been working as a creative in digital design and advertising for over 15 years now. With a background in interactive and user exeperience design I always aim to push the bar in user first thinking and finding new ways to apply digital technology.
In 2014 I started the Google ZOO in Amsterdam, where we help brands and agencies to become more successful in the digital space with the use of Google tech and platforms. I co-developed a proprietary design thinking methodology - Machine Sprints - to accelerate creativity and innovation. We work with leading brands and agencies in the region to increase the creative impact of their use of Google technology. This includes partnerships with:
- Nike to help you pick the right running gear using Google Assistant
- Booking.com to bring new uses of YouTube and DoubleClick
- LEGO how they approach YouTube via LEGO Lab
- H&M’s Ivy Revel and the Data Dress (featured on Fast Company)
- Vodafone bringing education to Dutch kids using Google Cardboard and Expeditions
Besides working at Google, I'm a jury member at the Webby Awards and Dutch Digital Design. In my career I've been recognized with more than 40 awards and honorees including Eurobest, Webby Awards, Red Dot, ADC, the FWA, Effie and Spinawards. In my spare time I love to doodle the great ideas my 7 year old son :)
